I've used illustrator in the office, but I use Inkscape for personal and freelance work (basics regularly)...
I'm not sure how much I can help, I've been working on blender for 8 years... but being a workaholic software engineer stuck in the office all the time you see your skill improving veeeery slowly ...
(Css is a breeze, inkscape will feel natural in an instant and UV Mapping on blender has a reputation for being scary, but it depends on what your trying to do really) ..
I personally believe you can master the basics of the three in a few days (dedicated).
Actually, UV Unwrapping in Blender is (in my opinion) incredible and one of its main strenghts. In my latest project (which will be uploaded shortly ) I used it so much and I can't complain - the new tools like a script that shows Texture-Stretching are awesome as well.
